Train the trainer programme

I truly believe in sustainable and scalable training solutions. My ultimate goal with my services is not to just to come in deliver a session and hope for the best.

I am committed to and passionate about social change for disability inclusion. Businesses are at the centre of this, both for their employees and their customers or clients. This means I want to make sure my knowledge and education can continue within an organisation without my intervention.

I also understand that having one-off training sessions with a specialist, while useful, does not give organisations the reach and ongoing education that many need. This programme involves creating training with you.

We will use my knowledge and content, your branding, your learning and development insight, your processes and policies, and (ideally) disabled colleagues input and voices.

We work together to create and deliver training that is not only bespoke to your organisation, but is able to be delivered by your facilitators.

This is an example of what I usually recommend the programme includes:

  • 3 to 6 disabled staff and disability allies for co-creation and facilitators
  • Disability inclusion and accessibility training for facilitators and co-creators before work starts
  • Consultant’s disability inclusion and accessibility expertise and content on the agreed topics, delivered in your company’s branded slides
  • Your company’s internal disability support and processes staff need to know about (adjustments passports, policies or processes)
  • 2 collaboration workshops
  • Co-delivery or supported pilot session with around 20 staff wanting to test the course
  • Edits following staff feedback from pilot session
  • Detailed frequently asked questions document for facilitators delivering future sessions
  • Trainer accessibility guidance
  • Video of consultant’s lived experiences of disability (disabled staff or customer stories are more impactful)
  • Quiz on training contents
  • Support for facilitators after pilot (additional co-delivered sessions, resources, shadowing)

Co-created training is usually in the format of live delivery, either online platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google) or in-person.

In my years of experience, facilitator training usually engages people more, especially when relating to disability. It also gives people the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions that independent learning cannot provide.

That said, we can absolutely explore co-creating e-learning if this format is better suited for your organisation.

The cost is based on the course content and the number of days needed to create and deliver the programme. If you contact me, I will send over a more detailed outline of the programme so you can better understand what’s involved.

We can then set up a call. Once we have agreed the course content and how the programme will be delivered, I can provide a full proposal outline and quote of the time needed and total cost.
